Technical Support Specialist with a background
in Geospatial Information Systems, in
our NC office. The successful candidate
will be responsible for providing on-site
implementation and training for GTG’s
GIS/mapping software solutions and telephone-based
application support. This position will
require overnight travel. Knowledge
of ESRI software including a proficiency
in ArcGIS 9.x products with the ability
to author and publish to ArcGIS Server.
Skills must also include ability to multi-task
and ability to thrive in a fast-paced
environment. Must be a team player as
well as have the ability to listen, to
accept responsibility, cooperate and

Requirements
- Experience in software development, ideally in a consulting environment; experience in systems architecture and design.
- Formal qualification in software engineering and/or formal qualification in GIS. Project management experience and experience using project management and planning tools.
- Highly skilled in software development using Visual Studio 2005/2008, (C#, VB.NET and ASP.NET) Enthusiasm for emerging technologies and willingness to embrace new skills; website development using ASP.NET, AJAX, XHTML, CSS, XML, VBscript, JavaScript, and SVG.
- Experience with GIS technologies (ESRI ArcGIS Desktop and Server 9.x, Web ADF and ArcObjects) is a major plus.
Responsibilities
This position will focus primarily on the design and development of .NET-based spatial solutions using VB.NET and ASP.NET technology. The ability to design complex software applications and lead small project teams (developers) is a must. The ideal candidate should possess experience and/or a formal background in programming and Geographic Information Systems, we will consider cross-training the right candidate with pre-existing strengths in this software development area. Generic software and technologies used by the team includes Visual Studio 2005, web services, AJAX, C#, SQL Server 2005 and Oracle 10g. The GIS technologies used focuses on ESRI ArcGIS Server products. Project teams are generally small and dynamic, candidates should therefore expect to be interacting directly with clients on a frequent basis. GIS Project Manager
Geographic Technologies Group (GTG) is looking for an energetic, creative, and enthusiastic Project Manager to work in the consulting, utilities, and data conversion services division of the company. This position offers a salary commensurate with skills – but it is expected that this position will command a total compensation between
$50,000-$75, 000. GTG is located in Goldsboro, NC – a bedroom community of the state capital, Raleigh. The Goldsboro area offers affordable housing, a short drive to the NC beaches and easy access to airports and the city of Raleigh.
Our ideal candidate is a motivated individual to manage GIS projects for local governments including, data conversion, data creation, strategic planning and database design. This individual will lead and coordinate GIS projects. Experience should include the following:
- Use and a complete understanding of ESRI products
- Advanced knowledge (expert level) of GIS for local government
- Excellent writing and communications skills
- Hands-on technical GIS skills, including:
- Advanced technical GIS project work experience
